Republiars

Since I've been home, i've been enjoying my last few days with a television and have been taking cnn in through an i.v. palin and mccain have been under my scrutiny during their appearances on everything from the view to hardball to interviews with charles gibson. let me just say that
I don't understand how "the most popular governor in the country" can also be the most publicly dishonest governor in the country.

Just to clarify some popular topics:

1. Palin said "[Alaska] produces nearly 20% of the u.s. domestic supply of energy" (gibson interview) - she thinks that makes her an expert on energy (FALSE)
True-- Alaska's share of domestic energy production is about 3.5%.

2. Palin said (in seven speeches which made my ears bleed) she told congress "Thanks but no thanks to that bridge to nowhere, if we wanted a bridge we would build it ourselves" HAha WHATTT! She supported that bridge THEN congress killed the project THEN she took the 2_ _ million from congress and spent 23!!!!million to build a road that led to where that bridge would have been. Call me crazy but...I think she's crazy.

3. Palin implied that she sold her private jet on ebay
She put her jet up on ebay three times and then the republican party came in and sold it at a loss.

4. Palin said she fired the private chef at the governor's mansion again FALSE.
The republican party reassigned the chef to be a campaign staffer somewhere

5.. Palin calls Mccain a maverick who reformed Washington. Well...if Palin and McCain consider washington reformed- they are in for a shock because Washington is far from reformed. obviously.

Don't even get me started about the lies she's said about our boy Obama.

6. Mccain and palin keep accusing obama of wanting to raise taxes for everybody when anyone with a brain knows that Obama's plan will lower taxes for 91% of the country.

7. Mccain said Obama called Palin a pig when Obama said "It's like putting lipstick on a pig" . I think we can't hold this against Mccain and Palin because they are unable to fully comprehend political speeches. But for those of you listening to that Obama speech- Obama was referring to Mccain's policy as the pig.

8. McCain said Obama voted for "corporate welfare" for oil companies. In fact, the bill Obama voted for raised taxes on oil companies by $300 million over 11 years while providing $5.8 billion in subsidies for renewable energy, energy efficiency and alternative fuels.

Also, for those of you who think it's more impressive that Palin was a mayor than Obama was a community organizer let's just point out that when Palin was mayor of Wasilla the high school had the highest dropout rate in the state and Wasilla was the crystal meth capital of the state.

Good thing Palin isn't the actual presidential candidate.

Go obama. it should be smooth sailing from here, the competition-well..need I say more?

I don't even know what's

I don't even know what's wrong with McCain/Palin. They seem to be operating under the assumption that their lies don't matter because they won't get called on it- and then when they do get called on it, they lie more! Did you see McCain on The View? He tried to lie his way out of getting nailed about Palin's earmarking.

And don't even get me started on Palin's energy "expertise."

I dont know much about

I dont know much about politics but the author of this blog knows her stuff

Nice Post!

Nice Post!

I think shes just as dumb as

I think shes just as dumb as Bush, whom, at this point, even the republicans have to agree is a complete idiot. Does she have a rich daddy or grandpa who bought her way into the Alaska Gov. position too, or are the Alaskan residents just as easily swayed by a chick with a gun as it seems most of the lower 48 reps are? It's slightly more deceptive than Bush though, she doesn't make up words or even attempt to talk about things she doesn't know much about in order to not get caught up in "misspeak". I guess that's why she doesn't debate or do many interviews, she doesn't know about anything other than oil, hunting, and her vast relations with our gravest enemy. . . Russia? You can only say the same three things over and over so many times before its completely evident that your a moron. However I guess if that were true McCain would start to change his speech strategy, did you know he was in Vietnam? and in the Navy? and a POW?
WOW, he must be a great president. In that case, I'm writing in Rambo because hes even more qualified.

"6. Mccain and palin keep

"6. Mccain and palin keep accusing obama of wanting to raise taxes for everybody when anyone with a brain knows that Obama's plan will lower taxes for 91% of the country."

Actually, overall taxes WILL BE RAISED. Anyone with a brain who watched the debate on friday the 26th saw Obama say "Taxes will stay the same if you make under $250,000".

"when Palin was mayor of Wasilla the high school had the highest dropout rate in the state"

Well she was the mayor of the town, NOT on the school board.

"our boy Obama"?

Need I say more?

Please reply! I'd love to chat.

Anonymous, I guess you didn't

Anonymous, I guess you didn't take the time to actually read what Danielle wrote. She wrote that taxes would be lowered for the overwhelming majority of Americans, about 95% of Americans.

Unfortunately, in your carelesness, you confused cutting taxes for most people with cutting revenue. The difference, you see, is that Obama is responsible enough to not pass along crippling deficits to coming generations. Obama raises taxes on the wealthiest Americans to pay for all of his new spending proposals.

Please, though, I'd love to hear a Republican defend the fiscal conservative record of these last eight years. Really, I'm sure you'll come up with something as creative as it is asinine.

So Obama is responsible because he isn't passing the defecit, but is raising taxes? You said it yourself! And what will pay for "all of his new spending proposals"?!?!?!?!

And you still didn't read the debate transcript where Obama said taxes will STAY THE SAME if you make under $250,000 per year. Sorry, both Danielle AND John are wrong.

playing fair, unlike ACORN.

[Added by site admin: Yes, ACORN is one of the big problems facing America today.]

Mark, I made the mistake of

Mark, I made the mistake of assuming basic literacy and familiarity with government on your part. My apologies for the error.

You see, income taxes are graduated into marginal rates depending on income level. Obama's plan includes raising taxes on people making over 250,000 per year (marginally; avg annual tax hike on those making between 225k and 600k is $12 per year. Above 600k increase is larger) and lowering them for those making below 250k per year.

I guess I don't understand how you can't grasp the concept of cutting taxes as a function of income, while raising overall revenues. Oh wait, do you think that cutting taxes will raise revenues?

Please, explain to me how the Republicans and Bush have maintained fiscal discipline these last 8 years.
